Getting Started in TBH: Task Bar Hero

TBH: Task Bar Hero drops you into the game from your taskbar with almost no tutorial. That's fine — the game is simple to start but has surprising depth. This beginner guide covers everything you need to know in the first few hours.

Pick the Right First Class

Start with Warrior. It's the tank class with the most HP and defense. Warrior forgives mistakes and lets you learn enemy patterns without dying constantly. You can unlock Mage or Rogue later once you have a second hero slot. Do not start with Rogue — you will die every 30 seconds and hate the game.

Early Progression Tips

• Complete the first area (Grasslands) to unlock the Alchemy Cube
• Use the Alchemy Cube to sell all grey and green gear for gold
• Save blue (rare) gear — equip it or sell only if you have duplicates
• Unlock your second hero slot as soon as you hit level 10
• Add a Mage as your second hero for faster AoE farming

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Don't salvage every piece of gear — some items are needed for quests
• Don't ignore the Alchemy Cube — it's your main gold source early
• Don't spread runes across multiple heroes — stack them on your main DPS
• Don't buy the Hunter DLC until you're sure you like the game
